This admittedly odd ocelot fur coat and hat was a part of Schiaparelli’s Fall-Winter 1938-1939 collection.
The ensemble was used, and somewhat parodied, in Inglorious Basterds, where a version of it was worn by Julie Dreyfus’ character Francesca Mondino.
“The Shoe Hat” was the result of another Schiaparlli-Dalí collaboration. Inspired by a photograph of Dalí balancing a shoe on his head, Schiaparelli featured the Shoe Hat in her Fall-Winter 1937-38 collection.
